We have been very busy in the garden. This year we have planted an even greater variety of vegetables in our little vegetable patch. Hopefully our scarecrow will keep the birds away from our crop and we can enjoy some home grown potatoes again before our summer holidays. They were really yummy last year.

March saw some celebrations in our school. The children sang in a lovely Mother’s Day Mass in our parish church. Moms, dads and the children danced together in a ceilí. They also enjoyed participating in a retirement celebration for Mrs Deely. A mass was held in the school hall for her and then the children had a little party in their classrooms while moms and dads joined in the festivities in the hall. We will miss our dear friend.

We are going to be very busy in the run-up to Christmas. On Tuesday 15th we will have a school outing to Chuckies for some fun and laughter after our hard work preparing for the concerts. On Thursday 17th, Ballyphehane Credit Union representatives will be in the school with prizes for some lucky young artists. Santa will also pay a visit this week to hear good reports about all our girls from very proud teachers. Maybe the teachers might also be good enough to receive a present or two!

Our annual Christmas concerts were a great success again. Our girls were joined by the pre-school pupils and some fantastic Irish dancers. We were entertained with song, verse, dance and a visual feast of colour and action.
Thank you for your praise and support again this year. A special thanks to all those who helped us with costumes, ticket sales, prizes and sound and lighting.
